Education is for the whole child, and should consider the individual emotionally, socially, cognitively, and physically.

All students want to learn, and they learn best when they are actively engaged in authentic and relevant learning tasks.

Each student is unique, with individual learning capacities, interests, pace, strengths, and needs.

Education is a vital part of the interdependency that links people and communities together.

Learning is a process developed through inquiry and demonstrated through application.

Learning is social, requiring continual dialogue among all who are involved in the learning process.

Technology is an essential communication and learning tool needed in the 21st century, but it cannot take the place of real interactions with people and the environment.

Innovation, creativity, and imagination lead to the ability to adapt to changes and solve problems in our changing world.
